A Long Day
Sunday, 3/7. The day started with a drive to the city for our Baby and Me Yoga class. There was no street parking. I drove around for almost an hour. Sebastian was awake the entire time and sat quietly in his chair, looking out the window seemingly amused by the happenings of the city right outside. He's such a trooper. I, on the other hand was not amused one bit and got exceedingly frustrated as it seemed that every car in front of me succeeded in finding a parking space. I finally threw in the towel and parked in a nearby lot. We got to yoga 15 minutes late. I was not a happy camper but glad we made it to class nonetheless. (I am not a quitter! No matter how much the NYC parking situation drives me nuts.)
Forty five minutes later, we packed up our yoga stuff and headed to a Baby and Me lunch, 10 blocks away. The restaurant was packed and didn't seem happy about seating a group of 5 babies. (Geez people - it is Sunday lunch hour - not Friday night happy hour.) We eventually chose a different, less crowded restuarant - 5 Napkins, and managed to get a cozy booth by the window. Well, it would have been cozy sans the high chairs, diaper bags, carriers and baby belongings scattered and sprawn around the table...two 1-2 month olds and two 5-6 month olds. (We lost one mom and baby on the way to the second restaurant. Sunday - chaos - lunch in the city isn't for everyone.) Sebastian got to sit in a high chair for the first time while playing with toys on the table. Of course I had the high chair cover to cushion the seat and keep him from bumping his head and from getting kooties. ;) The four moms (me included) managed to eat while feeding their little ones. Worked out nicely in the end and just as it was nap time we got our bill and packed up our little ones. I decided to take a stroll at this time with one of the other moms and her 6 month old, Julianna. (Sebastian's second friend named Juliana.) We walked over to Aroma Espresso for some yummy coffee while Sebastian took a nice nap in the moby wrap. All in all, it was a nice day with the sun shining bright, but definitely a very long day. Sebastian had no trouble going to sleep this night...he was out right after his 730p bottle....I was right behind him.
