Sundays are for Central Park

Sunday, 7/18. Sebastian and I spent the day at Central Park. We started off with a bus ride into the city with the fam. Thank goodness we weren't alone because I'm not sure I would have been able to carry the stroller, the "you would think it was filled with bricks" diaper bag plus Sebastian who is now bordering on 22 pounds!

Once at Central Park, we met up with new friends Stephanie and Logan for our first playdate. Logan was fast asleep in his stroller so Stephanie and I layed out the park blanket for us to sit and watch Sebastian play around. Sebastian either knew Stephanie from another life or thought she was someone he knew in this life because he was not shy about climbing all over her lap and grabbing her water bottle from her! I brought a beach ball which I quickly blew up for him to play with. He was happy about the ball until he discovered...leaves! And wanted to eat them. :/ After taking leaves out his mouth (not once but 20 times) Sebastian was ready for a nap. 80 degrees + lots of activity + leaf eating = sleepy baby. I strapped Sebastian in the stroller and off for a walk around the park we went. Sebastian was asleep with in five minutes of our stroll. And just like that, Logan was awake! They missed eachother by just a few minutes. We strolled, us moms getting some much needed exercise and comparing baby stories while Seb got some zzz's and Logan people watched with his juice cup and fishies in hand.

About an hour and a half later it was time to say goodbye to Stephanie and Logan and hurry on to our next Sunday date at Central Park - a kids festival at SummerStage. I strolled up to the check in booth, with Sebastian still fast asleep, to get informed that "No strollers allowed!" What?! In which I retorted that my son is sleeping and I am not waking him up to check in our stroller!" Since I was told there were no exceptions, I stood off to the side until my little guy woke up...15 minutes later.

Another 10 minutes and we were inside SummerStage (it took that long to put Sebastian in the carrier and check in the stroller!). We found Titi, Isis and the kids and took refuge there with them, inside the shaded tent. We listened to a couple bands perform and watched kids running around with face paint and make-shift musical intruments (don't ask).

20 minutes after arriving home and my little boy was out...
It was a long, sunny, heat consumed, but very nice day at NYC's most entertaining parks.
